The medial part of the upper end is rounded and it is called Head of the humerus
It is sited in the glenoid cavity of the scapulae

Anatomical neck , surgical neck

Medially: between the head and the humerus shaft
Laterally: between the head and the two tubercles

Because fractions often happen on it
