What is Quantitative information?
A
- Numbers and facttual information
- E.g.:
- Social indicators such as Literacy, population growth, LE (Life expectancy), TFR (Total Fertility Rate), and number of doctors per 1000
- Economic indicators such as GDP (Gross Domestic Product) or GNP(Gross National Product)/per Capita or HDI(Human Development Index)
- Environmental Indicators such as CO2 emmisions or access to fresh water
- Political Factors such as defence expenditure (=saftey) and female parlamentarians
- Technoligical factors that imapct wellbeing such as rate of mechanisation (% population in agriculture) and access to inernet

What is Qualitative information?
A
- More difficult to measure and compare
- Uses surveys and interviews not just numerical values
- E.g.:
- HPI( Happy Planet Index) uses LE, experienced well-being, and ecological footprint
- Gross National Happiness
- World Press Freedom Index
- OECP(Better Life Initiative)
