What is the process of filing human rights complaints?
A complaint is filed-> Complaint goes to the human rights tribunal of Ontario-> Complaint is remedied.
What does the OHRC do?
Protects Ontarians from discrimination based on race, sex, ethnic origin, ancestry, creed, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, disability, or citizenship.
What is a bonafide occupational requirement?
A legitimate, reasonable necessity of a job. A possible defense against unfair discrimination in hiring and other employment situations.
What is poisoned environment?
“A poisoned work environment is created when a workplace is hostile or unwelcoming because of insulting or degrading comments or offensive actions aimed at an employee or others.
What is affirmative action?
An action or policy favoring those who tend to suffer from discrimination, especially in relation to employment or education; positive discrimination.
