What is a job description?

A

The main purpose of a job description is to define the main duties and responsibilities of the job. It should include the title of the job, conditions and hours of work, the person who the job holder reports, etc.

A

It’s purpose is to identify what an ideal applicant should have in terms of personal qualities, knowledge, qualifications, skills and experience

What is a contract of employment?

A

It sets out the rights and duties of both the employee and employer. It’s the law that any full time employee should receive it within 8 weeks of employment. It must include: name of employer and employee, hours of work, agreed rated and payment method, length of paid holiday entitlement and length of period of notice to be given.
