What does urban mean?
A built up area with a high population density such as a large town or city
What does rural mean?
A countryside area made with a low population density such as a village

The process by which an increasing number of the world’s population lives in urban areas

HICs have the highest rates of urbanisation such as in Europe, usually over 75%
NEEs have urbanisation rates of 50% - 75% e.g Asia
LICs have urbanisation rates from 25% - 50%
