method 1 - questionnaire- random sampling
X wasn’t very busy meaning students asked the same people.
X unintentional bias- asked more women than men.
+ equal chance of being chosen.
Method 2 EQS- systematic sampling.
+ 200m intervals- coverage of area was wide.
X very subjective method- hard to decide on scored.

for questionnaires we presented the data with pie and bar charts.

-around half of the people asked said their main purpose of travelling was for tourism.
- the rest said for other purposes.
- almost 2/3 of the people said that they travelled by car. 18% walked.
-almost 25% of the people were willing to spend put to £100 around.

tourists do not damage the environment as much as the radar surveys showed that the area was clean. but most people drove to Keswick which causes pollution.

A

tourism does benefit keswicks economy. I think this is because it provides many jobs for the local people as 25% of the people were willing to spend up to £100.

how can we make the experiment better?

A
  • for EQS we could’ve had a key that described each score so they couldn’t be subjective.
  • we should’ve went during the summer so more tourists would’ve been there.
  • change random sampling to systematic so there won’t be a female bias.
