What does the skin protect us from ?
A
Physical damage, microbe infection and dehydration
Its dry, dead outer cells are difficult for microbes to penetrate, and the sebaceous glands produce oils that help kill microbes.

What do nasal hairs, mucus and cilia protect?
A
Nasal hairs keep dust and large microorganisms out of respiratory system
Mucus traps dust and microbes which are then carried away by the cilia

What does tears protect?
A
Tears, saliva and mucus contain lysozyme which destroys microorganisms

A
Contains hydrochloride acid which destroys microorganisms
