A

USE:
HF, AFIB, A flutter

K,H,K
-Toxicity (n/v, visual changes, fatigue and weakness) check apical pulse for a full minute and hold if <60, check digoxin levels 0.8-2

ANTIDOTE- DIGIBAND

RISK FOR TOXICITY
-Also on loops/thiazides (decrease the potassium levels)
-The older the client the higher risk of toxicity
-if takes st. Johns wort

Hf, life-threatening dysrhythmias

-leukopenia
-thombopenia (monitor cbc)
-prolonged use can cause ANA (autoimmune response) -body fights itself
