Anti-exposure suit shall be worn when
in event of mishap, would be significant risk of
1) water entry
2) water temp 50 deg F or below
OR
OAT 32 deg F or below (based on wind chill factor corrected temp)
When anti-exposure suits are up to PIC
water temp 50-60 deg F (based on ORM and SAR factors)
Anti-exposure sutis not required when
water temp greater than 60 deg F
Current NVD formation aircrewman required for
All NVD formation flights
2 aircrewmen required in syllabus event aircraft during
NVD formation syllabus events, HAC night form syllabus events, NSI syllabus events
Minimum crew requirements for ground maintenance requiring rotor engagement
HAC and qualified observer
OR
H2P and PQM
FCF checklist items shall only be completed
under the cognizance of a designated FCP
In order to be SAR capable for a flight with more than one H-60 designated aircrewmen in the crew,
one of the aircrewman shall be a designated Command Rescue Swimmer and be prepared to function as the wet swimmer
Warm up flights shall include
- 1 hr flight time
2. practice EP’s, including autos, single engine work, and pilot assist servo malfunction landings
Night currency; DLQs - day only
only HAC must be night current
Night currency; DLQ’s - day and night
all pilots shall be night current prior to launching for ship; if lapsed, do night FDLP or OFT
Initial aircrewman standardization check flights shall be flown
with the AWR NATOPs instructor, or AWR Assistant NI
Initial AWR dipping sortie shall be completed with
an ACTC LVL3 or higher
Crew Rest Ashore
Aircrew should not report earlier than 10 hrs and shall not report earlier than 12 hours prior to scheduled completion of all flight and post flight duties
Post flight duties
1 hr following scheduled land time
Crew day involving flight activities
should not exceed 10 hours and shall not exceed 12 hours without CO approval
Aircrew/scheduling of next day flights/sims
should not be scheduled for less than 12 hours and shall not be scheduled for less than 10 hours crew rest following all flight/post-flight duties
AWRs shall not be scheduled for a flight or sim if
they have stood the 0000-0800 ASDO
Day after SDO
should not be scheduled for flight or sim
Dip training flights should be
scheduled as dual a/c events to maintain mutual support while outside comms range of shore based stations
Decision to continue mission to deep dip area in event one a/c can’t takeoff shall be at
discretion of HAC after ORM considered for sea state, sea temp, wx, etc
Which dips are exempt from dual a/c scheduling requirements
Post ALFS reeling machine install maintenance dips and FCF dips
Checklists - PNAC and aircrew
shall verbally report all checklists complete
at night, when passing control of a/c,
fuel check and status of AFCS panel should be included
