What are indicators ?
measures used to assess the effectiveness of HR achieving high levels of performance among the business, teamds and individual employees
Corporate Culture
the culture of an organisation refers to the way employees carry out their duties and how they think and act on the job. The shared values, beliefs and practices of employees within a business.
Benchmarking Key Variables
- measuring indicators among own teams and employees
- comparing results against benchmarks
- performance is good or work is needed
These are compared against
- business functions, competitors and industry standrad norms
Changes in Staff Turnover
The number of employees that leave a business for a variety of reasons. HR Managers needs to identify both how often staff leave and why.
Absenteeism
When employees fail to come to work without an acceptable reason. Costly and loss of productivity.

Levels of Disputation
a conflict between employer and employee.
measures employees behaviours:
- number of strikes
- work-to rule
- Work bans
Worker Satisfaction
refers to how satisfied workers are with aspects of their job. these include pay, hours, workplace and difficulty.
Successful Corporate
Culture
inclusive, motivating and makes employees feels valued.
To achieve this, employees should:
- Be treated fairly and honestly, rewarded for their work and feel their ideas being valued.
Poor Corporate Culture
a negative work atmosphere, which contributes to disputes, lower motivation and poor business performance.
Issues in HR strategies:
- recruiting staff that don’t fit the culture, rewards don’t motivate employees and wrong leadership style
What will successful corporate culture improve?
Improve a long-term success because it balances the needs of the business with the needs of employees.
High average turnover indicates what ?
a higher than average turnover of staff would indicate a low staff morale and generally a poor employment relations. this can be disruptive to the business as well as costly.
Accidents
An important role of HR management is providing a safe environment.
Costs:
- moral responsibility
- fines and compensation claims
- productivity lost
- bad publicity
- replacement of equipment/ staff
High number of accidents indicates what ?
indicates HR is ineffective in creating and following safety policies.
