A
Knowledge, skills, abililities and other attributes (KSAOs) of individuals that have economic value to an organization.

- Intangible - cannot be managed the way organisation manage jobs, products and technologies
- Employees “own” their capital (! Not organisation)
- Organisations need to utilize employee knowledge and invest in their development.

- Business can only act together with the HR function (ex: recruiting, training, personnel deployment, downsizing)
- HR functions provides advise and support on request (ex: methodical support, organization development, coaching, individual advice)
