After putting on the LMX (numbing cream) wait for 45-60 mins and then take off.

After that apply a tourniquet near the area where you will be cannulating

Palpitate the vein to check for vein rebound elasticity.

Then clean the skin (2% chlorohexidine and 70% whatever) at which the needle is going to go in. Wait to dry before putting in

Remove the needle gauze.
Stretch the skin with your non dominant hand.

Angle at 25 degrees and wait for the first flashback (blood pouring out)

Decrease the angle to 15 degrees and then withdraw the stylet (needle thing)

You will see a second flashback of blood.

Use your dominant hand to slowly advance cannula tube away from the stylet

If your not collect bloods and release the tourniquet

After your finished flush

Secure the cannula with sterile tap
Then put permeable transparent dressing on top
Bandage it up
