- The Pharisees disregarded Jesus healing the man and accused Jesus of breaking the sabbath law
- they saw him as a rule breaker

“if it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place” - John 18:36

• Jesus says his kingdom is not a regular political kingdom- not of this earth
• The kingdom of God will not come with a rebellion (a zealot belief)

“At the time of resurrection people will neither marry nor be given marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven” - Matt 22:30
- They asked God if their is marriage in heaven. Jesus says there is no marriage in Heaven.

- Jesus says he can raise the temple again in three days (his resurrection)
- Jesus says he will replace the temple by dying for sin

“it has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” - John 2:20#
- Sadducees run the temple
