The ALL backed the Republicans in the 1936 Presidential election, but the Republicans won only 37% of the vote compared to FDR’s 61% - Failed to have a significant impact on FDR’s policies. The 2nd New Deal was more left-wing than the 1st New Deal:
Included the Revenue Act, which increased taxes on incomes over $50,000.
Tax rate was reduced from 79% to 75% at the request of RW opposition, but the Act was still introduced - FDR’s refusal to give in to RW opposition increased his popularity with the LW, and played a large part in his victory in the 1936 Presidential election
