Q

Define sedimentary rock

A

Formed when pieces of rock settle from the water on a lake or river bed. They become compressed as more rocks are deposited. The compression squeezes out water, leaving salt crystals that cement the rocks together

A

Formed from other rocks that are changed because of heat and pressure

Q

What are the 3 things that influence resistant to erosion?

A

How reactive minerals are to the chemical weathering.
Whether the rocks are clastic (cemented) or crystalline (interlocking)
The degree to which rocks have cracks, fractures and fissures.
