it is a complicated set of gears. chaining gears allows the vehicle to operate both smoothly and safely sat low and high speeds.
The up and down motion of the piston moves a crankshaft in a circular motion. A system of gears turns a shaft to create different power for different speeds. An automobile has two basic types of transmissions. The automatic transmission changes gears for the driver automatically. With a manual transmission, the driver shifts through different gears.

As the transmission turns the shaft, the shaft turns the axle, which turns the tires. The gears in the differential make the driver turn the car easier. The differential gears turn the outside wheels faster than the inside wheels; otherwise, the car would always turn wide.
