What are health issues with housing?
A
- Respiratory disease
- Hygiene – urine and faeces
- Bedding – Dust, Ammonia, Bedding types also can affect resting patterns and development of stereotypies.
- Dust – Large contributor in feed and bedding. Effects feed quality and mould.

A
- Present biological challenges to normal health regulations.
- Greater level of both upper and lower airway inflammation even in asymptomatic horses.
- Subsides (lessens) when horses are turned out.
- Psychological and physical stress.
Different systems and practices pose different threats.
