How are families living in areas of deprivation struggling with housing?
Because there may be poor conditions like overcrowding, indoor pollutants, dampness and cold conditions which contribute to physical health like hypothermia, heart disease, respiratory health.
Who does it affect when people are living in deprived areas of housing?
Both children and Adults but children living in poor conditions also tend to lack indoor and outdoor spaces to play safely and often live close to derelict land
What is derelict land
Derelict land is land that used to have buildings and are now places that are used most likely for fly tipping etc
What links have there been found to living on poor conditions
There is a link between being close to derelict land and to mental health
Why is that link important?
The link between mental health and being close to derelict land is adults who have grown up in poor conditions as well as troubled areas are more likely to have a wellbeing that’s below average and mental health issues which creates an obvious important link
