What are your thoughts on AI?
Ad:
•can diagnose cancers and analyse radiographs
•less note taking needed so more time for complex treatments
•can be used in scheduling and making appointments (less time spent)
Dis:
•people would be conscious of its use e.g dental phobias may be heightened as it would be scarier to get treatment
•robots may have bias over people unlike dentists that show more empathy/non-judgement
What are NHS dental deserts?
•areas where there is little to no access to dentists that offer NHS treatments making it hard to access affordable dental care
•this can be caused by long NHS waiting times and there may be few NHS dental practices especially in urban areas, the dental contract could also discourage NHS dentistry =UDA, limited pay
