A
- Size of the fire?
- The intended use?
- Quantity of water available?
- Pressure and flow required

What do you do if there’s a burst length?
A
- tell the pump and branch operator that there’s a burst length
- deploy the relevant hose type in parallel to the bust length
- once in position the delivery can be knocked off
- disconnect burst length immediately connect new length
- once connected water can be redelivered
- Tie an overhand knot in each end of the burst length
- on the makeup the burst length should be rolled up using the male cup link
