to keep things the same. For example the body need to keep itself at the same temperature of 37 degrees Celsius

what happens on day 5 of the menstrual cycle

FSH (follicle stimulating hormone is released from the pituitary gland in the brain and goes to the ovaries and tells them to develop the eggs.

what happens on day 7 of menstrual cycle
A
The eggs signal to the ovaries as they develop. The ovaries start to release the hormone oestrogen. This causes lining of the womb to build up
