Why must a person be so careful about honoring his parents?
The Torah compares honoring his parents to Hashem
What does it mean by holding his parents in awe
- You can’t stand in your parents place
- You aren’t allowed to sit in your parents seat
- You can’t contradict your parents
What is it meant by honoring your parents
To give your parents food and drinks, to cloth them an d drive them - he should give them what they need
Is it allowed to wake a parent up from their sleep?
No!
unless it has s for somethings important like for shul
Why is it good to make a request for his father name?
It is making his fathers honor.
If a person’s mother asks him to do something and his father comes and complain and says “who told you to do this” how must that person respond?
You shouldn’t say your mother told you to do this b/c you don’t what you’re parents to be upset with each other so you must say you ever if he is upset with you
Must a person honor their parents after there passing? How may he do so?
Yes in speech and or writing a person should say החנו כפרת משכבו twelve months after
How must a person act if his father is wicked?
He must still respect him even if he is wicked.
How must a person react when he sees his father Transgress a mitzva?
He must respectfully tell him it is wrong in a form of a question not a rebuke.
How must a person react if his father tells him to transgress a mitzva?
He must not do it
What must Person do it he wants to learn Torah in a specific place why?
He doesn’t have listen sent to his father and he can also choose a wife
Both men and women are obligated to honor parent. There is one difference however. What is it
If a woman gets married so he must respect her husband more than her parents.
What happens to a person who curses his parents.
He will be cursed
May a child treat his child medically? Explain?
No! Unless there is suffering and no one else to do it
