- Shout fire, fire, fire in whichever compartment.
- Don EBS
- fight the fire with portable equipment
- Continuous aggressive attack until relieved by attack BA
- Brief attack BA on location and type of fire
- Attack BA will continue with continuous aggressive attack
- Members of ships company in the vicinity will provide portable fire fighting equipment to ensure a continuous aggressive attack
- Once relived report to APL and brief him accordingly
- Then report to DCO

What is the function of the SCU 90 and how many do we have on board?
To supply bulk AFFF quickly to the scene of the fire. There are 8 located on board.
List 4 portable fire-fighting appliances on board and what type of fire they are used on
- AFFF used to fight solid and oil fires
- Dry powder used on hydraulic bursts and oil fires
- CO2 used on electrical fires
- Fire blanket used to smother a fire usually a deep fat fryer.
What are the duties of the attack party leader?
- Proceeds to the scene of the fire
- Directs the fire-fighting effort
- Utilises all fixed and portable fire-fighting systems at his disposal to get the fire out.
- Establish Comms and brief the DCO and the SPL.
- Action system isolations in the vicinity of the fire.
Who makes up the attack BA and what is the bogey time to be at the scene of the fire
It is made up of 2 members of the sws department. They must be at the scene within 2 mins.
State why the SM would crash stop ventilation.
To stop the spread of smoke throughout the SM in an emergency.
Where are the 2 positions that ventilation can be crash stopped from?
- Crash stop ventilation aft
2. Shut down 106 and 116 ENV panel
Explain the procedure for manning a smoke boundary
- The sentry will be suitably dressed
- They must be wearing EBS
- Only let authorised personnel through as approved by the APL, to control access and egress to the scene of the fire
- The sentry unzips the smoke curtain, personnel pass through and rezips it on completion
- This procedure limits the spread of smoke.
How do we control movement through a smoke boundary?
- Personnel entering and leaving must do so via an airlock
- The use of these airlocks and the door on the uncontaminated side is to be manned by a sentry in ebs
- The sentry will undertake atmosphere monitoring using portable drager equipment.
