Gave each settle 168 is a free land if they found it for five years
Importance
That was important because it allowed Mooreland to open up ownership to ordinary people although there were problems it helped to establish settlement on the planes
Condition of farming the land for five years was meant to discourage speculators

E.g. the timber culture active 1873 gave settlers another 160 acres for free as long as they planted trees on a quarter of the land
