Q

Negative Feedback loop

A

Negative feedback loop occurs when the body tries to reverse a condition its experiencing.

The loop is: body is in homeostasis—> variable throws body out of balance—> body counteracts in response—> body returns to homeostasis

Ex. Body is hot —> sweat is produced —> you cool down

Q

Hyperglycemia

A

Lots of glucose in the blood

Stimulus: blood glucose levels increase
Counter response: The pancreas releases insulin to open up cells. Cells take up glucose and use it as energy
Result: blood glucose levels decline, and body returns to homeostasis

Q
