homeostatis Flashcards
What is homeostatis?
Homeostasis its the weight the body is trying to maintain balance for
enzyme action and cell function.
What’s the temperature that our body must maintain?
37.C
Why is homeostatis important?
It maintains optimal conditions for enzyme action throughout the body, as well as all cell functions
Which are the control system responsible for homeostatis and how many?
The are two control systems and there are:
Nervous
Endocrine
Whats the definition of Nervous System?
The nervous System is a fast acting and precise, it uses electrical impulses to communicate
Whats the definition of Endocrine System?
Endocrine System is generally slow acting, it uses for chemical messages to communicate.
What is the control system?
The control system works automatically condition changes, in the body have the same pattern
What is the pattern of the control system?
RECEPTOR—->CORDINATION CENTRE—–>EFFECTOR
Explain the function of each component.
Receptor: detect changes in the environment
Coordination centre: receive and process information
Effectors: brings about responses which restore optimum levels.
What are the condition that our body needs to be controlled ?
Body temperature, water level and blood glucose concentration
