Homeostasis Flashcards
Types of neurons
Sensory
Relay
Motor
Features of nerve cell
Long axon
Installed by fatty myelin shealth
Tiny branches called dendrons
What is reflex arc
The pathway of Info from a sensory neurone through an inter neurone to a motor neuron to create a rapid response so does not contain the conscious part of your brain
Sequence of reflex arf
Stimutus
Receptor
Sensory neurone
Relay neurone
Motor neurone

What is homeostasis
The maintenance of steady conditions. The abillity for the body to maintain a constant internal envoroment e.g temperature or blood glucose concentration
Effector are either a
Muscle or gland
Where is temperature controlled
Thermoregultory centre in the hypothalamus
What does the body do when it’s too hot
Use the sweat glands to transfere heat energy into the environment
Vasodilation more blood flow witch transfers more heat to environment
