Homeostasis Flashcards
What homeostasis is?
The tendency of living organisms to maintain their characteristics in a state of equilibrium as external conditions vary. It’s a dynamic condition, no statics
What a negative feedback is?
A negative feedback is a self-regulatory system in which it feeds back to the input a part of a system’s output so as to reverse the direction of change of the output. The process reduces the output of a system in order to stabilize or re-establish internal equilibrium.
And what about feedforward?
The basic concept of feedforward control is to measure important disturbance variables and take corrective action before they upset the process. It´s a anticipate regulation.
What are the homeostatic responses?
Local (the response occur next to the stimulus) or geral (all the systems)
Talk about the liquid compartments in the organism
Is composed by extracellular and intracellular liquid (plasma and intertidal), divided by the plasmatic membrane of the cell.
