Learning Center

Sage University, you need a profile to access information.
Sage City, forums available for students, does not require a service plan.
Data File Name
the name of the data file being used
Company Name
The internal data file company name, displays below the name of the software used, near the top left side. Students change “Student Name” to your own name.
Session Date
(Upper Right) In a business environment, the session date is the current date when you are entering transactions. This date will change as you advance the Session Date.
Classic View
at the top right side click “Switch to Classic View”
Enhanced View
at the top right side click “Switch to Enhanced View” to return from classic view.
Exit and Save button
“X” top right to close Sage 50 Accounting. You will be prompted to backup files, “No” if you have already backed up your data.
Menu Bar
each menu item contains a drop-down list of options related to the menu heading. Click the menu item to display the menu list.
Toolbar Icons
designed to allow easy access to changing to another company data file, backing up current data file, opening DBM, closing any open journals or reports and for the business user Chat with Support (requires plan). When you move your mouse over a toolbar icon, an information box appears below it with a brief explanation.
Modules
referred to as a bar in the Home window. Each module will have different views for tasks, accountant’s tasks and related tasks depending on the module selected.
General Journal
used to make entries that cannot be made in subledgers and their associated journals.
