They wanted to be under uk rule which would give them more money than if they were under Irish rule, they were worried there wouldn’t be money to maintain roads, railways and buildings if they were under Irish rule.

They wanted to be Protestant and that the Irish would make Ireland completely Catholic, they were worried that there faith would be threatened

How do you get a bill passed in parliament
Before an act is passed it is called a bill. The bill has to be passed by the commons and the lords. A bill is debated by the commons first but even if they agree to it (that is, pass it) it then has to go to the lords who must agree to it too before it can become law.
