Dilaudid
AKA Hydromorphone: An opioid used to treat moderate to severe pain.
Tylenol #3

Tramadol
An opioid pain medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain.
Singulair
It is a leukotriene inhibitor (leukotriene receptor antagonist). Prescribed to treat the symptoms of asthma, exercise-induced bronchospasm, and allergic or year-round (perennial) rhinitis.
Pulmicort
AKA Budesonide
A corticosteroid used to treat asthma or COPD. Usually prescribed as an inhaler or nebulized. There are also pill, nasal spray, and rectal forms.
Lisinopril
An angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Used to treat used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and to improve survival after an MI.
Metformin
AKA Glucophage
First-line medication for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, particularly in people who are overweight. It acts to lower glucose levels by inhibiting hepatic gluconeogenesis and opposing the action of glucagon. Can also be used to treat polycystic ovary syndrome.
Fluticasone
A synthetic corticosteroid used to treat symptoms of asthma or symptoms of hay fever (sneezing, itching/runny nose). The inhaled version has been shown to decrease the number and severity of asthma attacks. It is also used to treat nasal polyps in adults.
Symbicort
A combination drug containing a long-acting beta 2 agonist (formoterol) and a corticosteroid (pulmicort aka budesonide) used to help prevent bronchospasm in those with asthma or COPD.
Advair
A combination drug to treat asthma and COPD. It contains a corticosteroid (fluticasone) and long-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist (salmeterol). Often prescribed in a diskus dry powder inhaler.
Valproate
Used to treat epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and to prevent migraine headaches. It acts to block voltage-gated sodium channels and increase levels of GABA.
Phenobarbital
A barbiturate used as a sedative and to treat or prevent seizures. It acts on GABAA receptors, increasing synaptic inhibition.
Carbamazepine
AKA Tegretol - An anticonvulsant used to treat epilepsy, neuropathic pain, and as adjunctive treatment in schizophrenia or second-line treatment in bipolar disorder. Inhibits sodium channels to raise threshold required to illicit an action potential.
Zopiclone
A type of sedative/hypnotic used as a sleeping pill for treatment of insomnia. It isn’t a benzo, but acts in a similar fashion to enhance the effects of GABA.
Viagra
AKA Sildenafil - Used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
