What is Sexual Identity
The sense of who one is a sexual person, including a sense of maleness /femaleness, and to whom one is attracted to (emotionally, erotically, socially, etc.)
*more difference within the sexes than b/n the sexes
Sexual Identity relates to:
- biological sex or gender; based primarily on genitals
- gender identity (with kids 3 years old they start to know their gender)
- gender roles
- sexual orientation
Intimacy:
The experience of closeness to another human being and feeling some type of connection in return
-it can be physical, or emotional
What is intimacy associated with?
- caring
- sharing
- liking or loving
- taking risks
- being vulnerable
- self-disclosure
- trust
What is sensuality?
(senses) physiological, and psychological pleasure from ones own body and the body of another person- or bodies of other people
What does sensuality include:
touch, smell, taste, hearing , vision
- sexual response cycle
- body image
- eroticism(stimulates in a proactive way)
- fantasy(aroused in the mind)
How does the Sexual response cycle work?
excitement phase
- Vasoconstriction (aroused) erect
2, Plateau phase - Orgasmic phase (muscle contraction, intense pleasure)

Sexualization:
The use of sexuality to influence, manipulate or control someone else

What is the difference between incest and molestation?
incest is sexual activity, closely related
molestation is someone trusting, conservative, and often religious.
Rape:
submissive by force or threat of force.

includes heath status and care of the genitalia, health consequences of sexual behaviors, and biological aspects of producing children.

Statutory Rape:
sex, even if the person cooperates with someone younger than 18.
