When should Dovato not be started?
Has only 2 drugs and should not be started if the HIV RNA > 500,000 or if there is a hepatitis B coinfection
What if someone is doing well but not on a preferred ART regimen?
Keep them on their current regimen
What do integrase inhibitors (INSTIs) end in?
tegravir
What should you not take with INSTIs?
Cations and INSTis do not go together
Take INSTI 2 hours before or 6 hours after Al, Mg products
What do protease inhibitors end in?
navir
What are PI boosters?
Ritonavir 100mg or cobicistat 150mg are boosters
What is maraviroc (Selzentry)?
CCR5 antagonist and must have tropism assay results to identify type of co-receptor
Not useful if CXCR4 or mixed (CXCR4/CCR5)
What is enfuviritide (Fuzeon)?
Fusion inhibor
90 mg SC BID
What drugs can be used for PrEP?
Truvada or Descovy
Do not start PrEP without a negative HIV test first
What drugs can be used for PEP? When does it need to be started?
Need to be started within 72 hours of the exposure and requires 28 day treatment
