What is the treatment for PJP? How long do you treat

A

Treat for 3 weeks with:
Oral Bactrim for mild to mod PNA
IV Bactrim for mod to severe
IV steroids within 72 hours for patients with PaO2 <70 and A-a gradient > 35
IV Pentamide or IV Clindamycin plus oral Primiquine for patients with a sulfa allergy
