M:ilitarism - Militarism had the overall societal emphasis on the military because it’s believed that the more military you had, the more powerful you were.
A:lliances - These effected the world wards greatly. World war was called world war because everyone was involved. Half the world powers spilt on either side. This is what made the war so damaging on a large scale.
I:mperialism - Tying back to militarism, imperialism had also contributed to the amount of power a country had. Plus, the more places that were imperialized, the more resources and advantages the country could attain. (i.e. Germany wanted an empire as big as Britains’ = imperialism.)
N:ationalism - This ties back to imperialism, a country could feel more nationalism if they are more powerful. Nationalism can also be the driving force behind imperialism.
