Militarism
he desire that a country should maintain a strong military capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend or promote national interests.
Alliances
a formal agreement between two or more countries to mutually support each other in the event of war
Mobilization
the process of organizing a nation’s resources and military forces to prepare for a national emergency or war
Casualty -
a military person lost through death, wounds, injury, sickness, internment, or capture or through being missing in action
Armistice -
an agreement made by opposing sides in a war to stop fighting for a certain time; a truce.
Treaty
a formally concluded and ratified (approved) agreement between countries.
Stalemate
a situation in which further action or progress by opposing or competing parties seems impossible.
total war
Total war is a type of conflict in which a nation mobilizes all its resources—economic, industrial, and civilian—for the war effort, and where there are no clear distinctions between military and civilian targets.
