- as Aboriginal resistance to British exploitation grew, so did the instances of frontier violence- rising number of Aboriginal casualties.
*For example, in the Tasmanian Aboriginal genocide, the ‘full-blood’ indigenous population dropped from 6000 to zero from 1776 to 1803.
*Introduction of new diseases like smallpox, measles and influenza caused the death of many Aboriginals, who had no immunity prior to the introduction of such illnesses.

Q
Spiritual Impacts
A
This* inequality* between the two races elaborates on the spiritual trauma experienced by the Indigenous people, who were denied access to spiritual sites all the while **witnessing the urbanization and destruction of their heritage lands. **
* The **imposition of Christianity on the Aboriginal people **further aggravated the spiritual impact, as their traditional beliefs and practices were suppressed. The human rights violations that occurred because of colonisation greatly impacted the livelihood and lifestyle of the Aboriginal people.

Q
Phycological Impacts
A
- Aboriginal children were dressed in Western clothing, in order to encourage them to live the ‘white way’ of life.
- under the care of nuns or “protectors” who taught them basic Western subjects such as Christianity and English to assimilate them into western culture.
- forced assimilation created uniformity to further strip them of their Aboriginal identity, leading to the loss of their language, customs, and traditions.
- Moreover, the government also passed a law, stating they had the right to forcibly remove children from their families, when their parents were deemed incapable of looking after them.
- This severe dehumanisation of Aboriginals people as guardians lead to the exploitation of the law, with many children being stripped away from their parents, without reasonable justification, in order to deconstruct the children’s heritage.
