Protection Policy
The name given to the law that each state in Australia developed to remove half-caste Aboriginal children from their families and place them in missions with White Australians.
Assimilation Policy
This policy began in 1936. It aimed to force Aboriginal people to learn White Australian culture, way of dressing, values, English language, and religion. It ended by 1970.
Gurilla tactics
- They act quickly and then withdraw before enemy reinforcements arrive.
- Mass, strike, and disperse are strategic elements of successful guerrilla operations.
- They were done in small groups
*Aboriginal warriors used guerilla tactics against Shepard’s and stockmen, killed stock and attacked camps - SURPRISE RAIDS AGAINST THE ENEMY
*A group of 10 convict stockmen rode onto Myall Creek Station
* massacred about 28 Aboriginals
*The first time that the perpetrators of such crimes were brought to justice.
*Following a second trial, seven men were executed.
