The origin of the name is spanish, and the meaning of it is MEADOWS (=prairie), the territory was spanish when it was discovered

The name was given by Rafael Rivera, because he was traveling to LA and stopped for water, + also cause of the wild grasses which grew in the nutrient rich dessert with supply of water
What is the old spanish trail ?
Its an historical trade road that connected the Nothern New Mexico settlement(= colonie) of Santa Fe with those of LA
Why is the Old Spanish trail so important in the history of Las Vegas ?
It’s important because it was explored by spanish explorers in the late 16th Century, this trail was used by caravan from around 1830 to th mid 1900s + it was etablished as an usuable trade road with California

It was created in the 19TH it doesn’t have any history (revolution) or monuments because it was recently created
