Fracastro’s theory of Contagion. That diseases could be passed between people. This began to become popular and influence behaviour towards disease.

During the Renaissance public bathing was less fashionable as people believed they would catch syphilis from bathing together
What was Thomas Sydenham’s big idea that he wrote about in 1676 and how was it different to the Four Humours theory?
I.He argued that disease was something that attacked the body and not based on the humours that were present inside a patient.
II.He argued disease would be better understood if we saw how they were connected. Certain diseases belonged to families.

During the Great Plague 1666, people believed that if they caught syphilis (Great pox) they would not catch the Bubonic plague as they were similar
