English and French mainly settled in East America. The English and French both came to the New world for religious reasons.

Different treatment of natives. French good, English just wanted land, Spanish wanted to enslave them.
What is the significance of the Ming dynasty and how the vision for the empire changed over time
The Ming dynasty marked a time period in China of cultural achievements. At first the Ming wanted to show the world their power, wealth, and trade. Later they wanted to shut themselves away from the world and focus on their culture. This was because Confucianism was becoming more popular.
How did the Renaissance impact the Scientific Revolution ?
During the Renaissance people relied more on reason (age of reason). Medieval scholars built on knowledge from the Muslim world. The docs from the crusades also helped. this led to the emergence of universities fro people to be educated.
What was the Enlightenment ?
An intellectual movement in the eighteenth century that emphasized reason and science.
How did Enlightenment Philosophers contribute to American Democracy ?
a Social Contract, people should give up some rights to have a government. this government should protect their rights and if they don’t the people have the option to rise up against them. John Locke introduced inalienable rights.
Similarities and differences of the Spanish, Dutch and English exploration in Oceania
They were all looking for the Great Southern Land, and all had bad interactions with the natives. They all had different captains (dutch-Tasman, Spanish- De Quiros and Mendania, English- James cook). They all found different Islands (Dutch- Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand) (Spanish- Soloman islands) (english- Hawaii)
Contrast and Compare the American and French revolutions
Both revolutions opposed the tyranny. Both were influenced by enlightenment. The American one was founded by Protestants and was for economic, religious, and political freedom. The French however rejected religion and saw it as an enemy.The French did not see the Enlightenment with Christian restraints English did.
How did Latin American nations gain independence ?
Colonists and leaders claimed independence in a series of military and political struggles between 1808 and 1825. Some through riots others through diplomacy.
