  • distal extremities, superficial burning pain (heat intolerance)
  • Type II DM
  • loss of balance
  • impaired fine hand/eye coordination (ADL: jars, keys)
  • GI: nausea/vom, dia/const, abdominal pain
  • GU: difficulty/incomplete voiding

A
  • numbness, tingling, pain in ulnar digits
  • gradual onset
  • ADLs of repetitive motion ipsilaterally
  • DDx: carpal tunnel, Cx radiculopathy

Kidney Stone/Infection

A
  • “waves of pain”
  • sharp, severe pain @ flank area, radiating around groin
  • sudden onset
  • abdominal pain, nausea/vom
  • change in bathroom habits
  • usually low water intake
  • possible lightheadedness/weakness

  • insidious onset, gradual
  • median nn distribution area
  • decreased grip strength
  • occupation: desk job
  • overuse syndrome

  • pain after exertion, improving w rest (stable angina)
  • radiates to inner arm or jaw (pre-infarct)
  • pain lasting over 30 mins - more likely cardiac
