1963, “Spontaneous Release by Positioning”
When did Dr. Jones die?
1996
When did Brian make his initial discovery and what system was it in?
1998, Viscera
What year was the first FCS course? What was it called?
2008, “Counterstrain for the Visceral and Lymphatic System’s”
When did Brian unveil the cranial scan?
2011
When was the second new course, where was it and what system?
2012, Costa Rica, Arterial
When was the first LV standalone course?
2012, after Arterial
When was the first Nervous System class?
2014
When was the first F1 - Intro course?
2015
What is the main difference between SCS and FCS working theories?
SCS - Muscle spindle theory, FCS - inflammation (IIS)
Why 90 secs for SCS and 15-45 secs for FCS?
SCS was more generalized release and needed longer hold. FCS is so specific that it doesnt take as long to shut off the reflex.
What did Irwin Korr contribute to the working theory of Counterstrain?
He postulated that the gamma motor neuron, when excited, affects the muscle spindle and creates abhorrent muscle guarding. He called it “high gamma gain”. He also thought there was a sympathetic component.
What year did Irvin Korr make his contribution?
1975
Who added in the nociceptive stimulation aspect and what was the date?
Richard Van Buskirk, 1990s
Trapped inflammation contributed to the persistent nature of this protective mechanism
What two authors are credited with setting the way for Brian’s IIS model?
Korr and Van Buskirk
Who published that fascia was able to contract in a “smooth muscle-like manner and influence ms mechanics”? When?
Schleip 2003-2005
Who descirbed fascia as a “dynamic sensory organ with type 3 & 4 sensory receptors, nociceptive and mechanoreceptor function”? When?
Stecco 2008
Who proved that active MTrP’s contained PC’s - TNF-a, IL-1b, IL-6, NE? When?
Shah 2008
Who found that putting TGF-b1 onto fibroblasts made them differentiate into myofibroblasts? When?
Schleip 2019
Who was the architect, turned doctor, who found biotensegrity?
Ingber
