The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain because it had new technology, advanced transportation, a colonial market to sell goods to, and strong financial institutes that could invest in new inventions and factories.

Why was there a mass moment between rural and urban populations during this time?
The industrialization of farms ushered in an increase in the unemployment of farm labor. These individuals, now jobless, moved to urban centers where large factories were growing and in need of manual, skilled labor to work the machines.

Heavy air and water pollution and an increase in the use of fossil fuels. Increase in living standards also caused the depletion a natural resources.
