Abbot
Part of the body or clothing of a holy person
Relic
A person with religous views that disagree with official Church teaching
Heretic
A type of building, usually a church, given special status by the pope.
Basilica
Monk following the rule of St Dominic. Frias were monks who could travel around, instead of staying in a monastery.
Dominican Friar
A movemment in the 16th century which led to the founding of Protestantism. A Protestant is a type of Christian whose beliefs are different from those of the Catholic Church.
Reformation
Deliverance from sin and its consequences
Salvation
The forgiving of a person’s sins.
Absolution
Cut off or banished from a religous group, in this case, the Catholic Church.
Excommunicated
