Reverse the treaty of Versailles - restore german territory and build up armed forces
Unite all German speaking people - to make a “Greater Germany”
Lebensraum - secure living space in Eastern Europe for growing population
Destroy Communism - to prevent USSR attacking Germany

Hitler improved trade and accepted polish borders, means he didnt see them as a threat/potential attacked

Full military alliance between Germany and Italy promising to assist each other in war and to cooperate closer in economic matters

Promised to not support attacks against each other (In public), Agreed to divide Poland (In secret)
January 1935 - Return of the Saar (Germany)
Part of Germany lost in ToV and run by league since 1920. 447,000 to 48,000 voted to re-join Germany
March 1936 - Remilitarising of the Rhineland
The German military was banned from Rheinland because of ToV. After Allied troops withdrew in 1935 Hitler sent in troops
March 1938 - Anschluss
Hitler encouraged Austrian Nazi Party to demand union with Germany even though banned by Tov, 99.75% of Austrians votes in favour
September 1938 - Sudetenland Crisis
Sudetenland was part of Czechoslovakia with 3 Million German speaking people. Hitler claimed Czech discriminated them and he would protect them with military force. UK, France, Italy and Germany met at Munich and agreed to make Sudetenland part of Germany
March 1939 - Takeover of Czechoslovakia
Hitler threatened Czech with invasion, Claimed he was restoring order even though Czechs weren’t German. Czech provinces Bohemia and Moravia became German
1st of September 1939 - Invasion of Poland
Danzig + Polish corridor had been taken from Germany in ToV. This separated the German territory of East Prussia from the rest of Germany. Hitler invaded on 1st
