Hart Cellar Act
1965, ends quota system in place since 1924 which had excluded immigration from Asia and severely limited it from Africa, southern and eastern Europe.

1964, passed by congress. Prohibited racial discrimination in employment. Ends Jim Crow but on Federal Level, banned discrimination of sex.
