2 options- LA + light sedation- can go home after procedure and drive
GA- cannot drive for 24 hours, need someone to look after you and take you home
Alternatives- barium swallow- contrast + xrays, less infor and no biopsy
Risk- uncomfortable, bleeding, perforation, oral injury, aspiration risk
