Monorphic cells arising from intermediate trophoblasts with poor ddx, propensity to invade myometrium.
Weak HCG expression because they lack extensive syncytiotrophoblastic tissue.

Placental Site Trophoblastic Tumor
Path: Weak hcg expresion, lack extensive syncytiotrophoblastic tissue; may secrete HPL
Px: 1/3 bleeding, 1/3 amenorrhea
Tx: Hysterectomy. Ovaries may be retained if nl. Lymphadenectomy controversial. Adjuvant chemo may be necessary
