Psoas Major Attachment
Attachment:
T12- L5 (lateral aspect), L1-L5 (transverse process) and intervertebral discs
Psoas Major Action
Action: Hip Flexion
Psoas Major Innervation
Innervation: Ventral Rami (L1-L3)
Illiacus Attachment
Attachment:
Illiac crest, illiac fossa, sacrum, anterior sacroiliac ligament.
Illiacus Action
Action: Hip flexion and stabilization of hip joint.
Illiacus Innervation
Innervation: femoral nerve (L2-L3)
Psoas Minor Attachment
Attachment:
Lateral aspect bodies of T12- L1, inter vertebral disc, pectin and illiopubic eminence
Psoas Minor Action
Action: Stabilization of thigh
Psoas Minor Innervation
Innervation: Ventral Rami (L1-L2)
Gluetus Maximus Attachment
Attachment:
Posterior ilium, dorsal surface of sacrum + coccyx, sacrotuberous ligament, glueteal tuberosity and illiotibial tract.
Gluetus Maximus Action
Action: extension and lateral rotation of thigh at hips.
Gluetus Maximus Innervation
Innervation: Inferior Gluteal Nerve
Gluteus Medius Attachement
Attachment:
Anterior and Posterior gluteal lines, and lateral surface of trochanter.
Gluteus Medius Action
Action:
Abduct and medially rotate thigh.
Gluteus Medius Innervation
Innervation:
Superior gluteal nerve (L5, S1)
